Winter Joy!

Winter is a time of going in.  A time to reflect, and a time to let go of things that no longer serve you.  Let’s prepare to move into the next year clean and clear!  

In preparation for this time of quiet reflection we all need some help moving stuck energy, as well as some great tools to get us through the busy, holiday season. Here are some of the things that I like to do to during this time...

Bitters!  

I know you are thinking of those great drinks at Christmas parties, but I love digestive bitters to help support digestion this time of year.  My favorite bitters are made by Urban Moonshine.  We used to be a culture where we would eat something bitter with our meals to stimulate the digestion, and support it. Since we are sometimes driven by our cravings of sweet or salty we forget to put this flavor in with our meals.  Taking a bitter before a meal is a perfect way to get the digestion started.  Also in Chinese Medicine bitter is the flavor related to the heart!  So nourish your heart, and help your digestions with all the heavy foods you are eating this time of year!

Chinese Patent Medicine:  

There is also a great Chinese tea pill called Pill Curing or Pill Culling.  These are great for travel.  They help with digestion, parasites, hangovers, and many other type of digestion issues!  They are my favorite, affordable, go-to herbal supplement.

Soaking and Sauna! 

Everyone knows how I love geothermal love.  The magic of soaking in mineral laden hot spring water is amazing!  Gives the immune system a little boost to get through all those parties and family commitments.

Resolution of Health! 

I know that it is a great time to set intentions of what better serves your body, heart, and spirit.  I love to go to a place where I can be quiet and journal about those things that have happened this year.  What things I would like to see continue, and what things I am ready to let go of, making room in my life for new experiences and opportunities.  

Whether you celebrate Solstice, Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or the new and full moon this is a powerful time to honor where you have been, and where you are going.
